I can give an example of this in a smaller sense. A particular coworker of mine is consistently whining and complaining each day at work. Whenever I find myself being sucked into the crabfest I immeadiately take a minute to read a joke or quote, put on my headphones or simply step away for a minute.

It reframes my mood and gives me a boost of happiness, so that I control my attitude – not the people around me.
