Great hearing from you! Love the stories… sounds like your dad is a lot of fun! What a gift to you and your five siblings!

Do you ever try to trick HIM?

That is, to the average person he seems as serious as can be. His family and friends know better! That serious side of him makes it easy to forget that he can be a real stinker when it comes to practical jokes. The best yet was at breakfast one spring day. It was actually April 1. We really didn’t put two and two together because it was so early in the morning. He made pancakes for us but when we went to pour the syrup, he told us that the ants had gotten into the bottle, so we had to eat them plain. Since this had happened before, and like I said, we didn’t make the April Fool’s connection…..we were made the real fools by turning the bottle over and over trying to find the ants! He never even cracked a smile! Of course, there were no ants. What is even funnier is that there are six kids in my family and we were all fooled, even Mom was fooled. He has also used the disguise trick as well. I have pictures of him dressed as a woman and fooling the whole church at a social. Nobody could figure out who the three new women were. Especially since they were quite flirty and not so pretty! One, of course, was my dad. I love how he can be so playful when you least expect it. Which is most of the time, since he usually is so serious.
