Great quote Minette. And so true. Both the quote itself and how hard it is to keep in mind.

I certainly don’t think Alton should be nominated for Worst Day Ever b ay stretch of the imagination. For whatever reason, though, that comment he wrote just really struck a chord with me. Maybe I took it the wrong way, but I see way too many people put other things before their kids who end up regretting it when it’s too late.

And yes, Alton’s take on cooking is second to none. I especially loved his Feasting On Asphalt series.

They wish they had spent one more hour with their family, walked along one more beach, or played one more game.

As hard as it is in today’s culture, we would be wise to remember this.

I’d have to agree with you – nice observation. I just wrote a post last week about reading and in it, I mention that I love to hear about my friends reading to their kids. I’m not a parent, but if I were, reading to my kids would be one of my top priorities. I’m incredibly thankful that both my parents and my mother, especially, got me into reading because it is awesome. It is really like a gift they gave me. Funny you should mention that book because I got it for Christmas this year and really enjoy Alton’s take on cooking.
