Around Christmas time last year, he had surgery on his wrist. When he was recovering and asked us why we did this to him, it really brought God’s sacrifice home to me. Here was my “baby” with scars on his wrist. He had pain medication, and he would get better. The surgery was for his own good.

Conversely, Jesus did not need the cross, but we did.
