Alina,

Hooray! Bravo! Congrats!

Good for you Alina, for having the bravery to go against the grain and challenge conventional wisdom. You are making a decision you will not regret. Your girls don’t know how blessed they are!

Just what I needed to hear this week (after getting a work email at 10 PM last night). You speak the truth and we can all use the reminder about our choices in life. And that we have them!

Thanks!

Lately I’ve been contemplating searching for a new job that is in a management position. My reason for wanting the job is mainly higher pay so we can live more comfortably. My husband has questioned me asking why I would want such a demanding job and I honestly could not give him a real answer. Now that I’ve read your article with my newborn daughter in my arms and my 16 month old daughter sleeping at my side, I realized that I don’t want a job that takes these blessed moments away from me. I’ve already learned that infancy goes by way too quickly & I don’t want to miss a thing! I will now make the effort to do my current job well and instead of looking forward to a promotion, I will look forward to my girls’ enjoying life! Thank you do much! I hope you know how much of an impact this will have on my family!!! Sincerely, Alina Juarez, Reedley, Ca

You are affecting audiences, and teaching your kids that curiosity and play are celebrated!
I do not believe in this thing called “life balance” but of course work on having it all (until the collapse thing happens). It’s ‘life choice’. You and Kim hit on a great reminder, which is blocking that one calendar day (or two) and shut off the outside world and just Be. Love it!
The push to be the gatherer is in the genes, luckily you fit in your genes better than most fathers. :o) Hugs!
