A friend recently told me “everyone wants to be part of a movement.” To prove his point, he offered the analogy of two lobster restaurants (part of a VERY long story of a recent trip he took) where one was full and one was empty. He asked me, with a touch of arrogance, which one I would eat at. My response was, “Neither. I don’t like lobster.” Yeah, well. He wasn’t too happy with that answer or with my other friend who was rolling on the floor laughing at this point, because she knew he was trying to make his point to the wrong person.
