I have choice of bus, train & ferry. And nowadays being a recipient of the gold-card can travel after 9am weekdays and all day weekends for free – so it’s a fun way to have a day out, wandering about my city – a sprawling city surrounded by a lot of ocean…

if it’s hot and sticky I will pick the air-con types – and if it’s cold, it has to be something heated – if it raining, well I stay on as many as possible.

I have chats with people, usually fairly short but recently have had longer ones; I wander into a cafe, grab some to take-a-way and sit in the street, at the seaside, in a populated park and muse on life.

I try to eat enough of stuff (not always the right healthy stuff) so I can just have a light dinner when I get home… I have favourite places if I happen to be in that area!

I feel the same way when I write songs. The song is halfway done and I don’t like it, but then I try to use my fear as energy to push me through to the other side where greatness awaits. And more often than not, the art comes out better than I would have imagined.
