Coming from the land of cheese and brats, Jason and I tried to get our fill of real southern-style cooking this weekend in Atlanta. Nothing beats southern fried chicken.
I heard once that if you try a food that you’re not sure about three times, by the third time you will like it, or at least be able to tolerate it. I have found this to be true with sweet potatoes. With a little childlike curiosity and an open mind, you can really broaden your taste buds and widen your menu options. A year ago I would never have ordered sweet potato casserole, but that’s what I got with my chicken today when we went to a neat restaurant while visiting Stone Mountain Park. We got to try some other new things there, including sweet potato straws and the yummiest sweet rolls I’ve ever had. The waiter even tossed the hot rolls to us from across the room. It was fun!
Being in GA we had to try the peach cobbler. It was painfully good!
