Cartoonist raises money to make kid’s dreams come true
Raising money to make wishes come true the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin held an auction Thursday, April 21, at the Marriott West.
More than 250 people attended the Kim & Jason benefit which netted $7,200, which is enough to grant the wishes of two children with life threatening conditions.

Headlining this year’s event was a cruise giveaway sponsored by Veridian Homes. Kristi Palet, of Waukesha, WI, won the $2,000 five-night cruise package.
Runners up Matt Allen won a Dane Dining Package, Michelle Alswager won a Family Adventure Package for fun in Madison, and Amy Davidson won the Pamper Yourself Package, which featured a number of spa excursions.
A silent auction also brought in money for the effort. A signed Green Bay Packer football, Badger Fan-atic package and a Barry Alvarez autographed Wisconsin Badger’s football jersey all helped to raise funds.
“Everything went above what it was worth,” said Jaimie Hollenback, representative for Kim & Jason.
A crew of people from the Jeopardy television show also made an appearance at the event running a five-minute contest, she said.
Putting the event together took dedicated volunteers offering their time.
A core team of five people organized the event starting in the fall and 15-20 people made it happen volunteering to set up and tear down the event.
