On September 25th I blogged about the best reality show on TV, Three Wishes. This show consistently served up large doses of hope and joy every Friday night for the last three months. I am angry and saddened by the news that NBC has canceled the show. Tonight is the last episode.
I am angry because it is inevitable that soon enough I will hear someone complaining about the problem of having too much junk on TV and not enough ‘family friendly’ shows. I will have to ask them, “Did you watch Three Wishes?” Now, maybe NBC didn’t give it the best time slot or promote it as well as they should have but word of mouth is huge for a show like this. Good ratings happen when people talk and recommend it to all of their friends. Let’s get some huge ratings for their last show tonight (9/8c) and assure NBC that this show is worth keeping. You can also email NBC to share with them your thoughts about losing the show.
I am saddened because of the missed opportunities to change peoples’ lives. When Amy and her crew rolled into town far more than three peoples’ lives were changed. Often a community was changed. Just think of how many more people would be affected by this show if it were still running.

Aw, shucks! I love this show, too! I thought I heard a couple weeks ago that 6 more episodes had been ordered–I’ve seen just three more (these kids-write-in ones, which I don’t like as much as the small town ones, but they are still good). :(
