This week’s Escape Plan challenge (aka our Tip of the Week), is #30: Funjection Device. Figure out a way to bring some fun into a dreaded task today.
“My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first one being — hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.” -Erma Bombeck
Amen, Erma. Thank goodness for wrinkle release spray!
My least favorite chore (besides grocery shopping) is laundry. I shudder to even think about it and inevitably end up procrastinating until I have one lonely pair of unmentionables left. This challenge will help you get beyond the dread by adding a little fun to the routine. It’s a fact that most adults are starved for silliness.
Here are a few ideas to get you rolling…
- Try shoveling to some tunes.
- Wear a goofy hat grocery shopping and enjoy the way you wake up the other zombies, I mean shoppers.
- Listen to the Escape Adulthood Podcast Show on your commute!
- Tape something to the end of your pen as you do your bills. Some ideas could be a flower, a little buddy like Pokey, or even and small picture of something that makes you smile.
So, what are your dreaded tasks?
Share with us in the comments on the Escape Plan blog what you did to inject a bit of fun this week, as you annihilate the Adultitis in your life.
Happy Escaping!
