Life is filled with countless rules that need to be broken. No, I’m not talking about running red lights or robbing banks. I’m talking about simple assumptions that we live by in order to fit in and stay comfortable. Kids like to break the mold and a great way to stay childlike, leaving Adultitis in the dust, is to follow their lead. Here are a few thoughts about the rules that don’t exist.

Kim:
I enjoyed this post…you are so right about keeping up with the joneses and following rules that don’t exist. All of us need to make decisions based on what is best for us and our families and not what everyone else is doing. Kudos on a great post and good luck in your travels!

What an excellent truth – loved it! You know we’re on board with that one.
Cubby got to fly his first chopper yesterday. He’s all up inside his element right now. It’s so awesome to watch him ride his dreams.
Lucy’s looking so adorable! And almost one!
Still lookin’ for the pause button…

Thanks Kim! As I was taking the bus this morning, I was thinking about getting another car…that we can’t really afford. Thank you for reminding me to challenge the rules that don’t exist! :)

Thanks for this reminder. I think I am finally at a place in my life and with my family that I can say no to some of the perceived must-haves and must-dos in life that will take away from our family’s quality time together. That took some time but now we are happier than ever. Make decisions based on what works for your situation, not anyone elses.
