Carolyn Straight, May 2021 Adultitis Fighter of the Month

adultitis-fighter-logo-300

An Adultitis Fighter is someone who rallies against rules that don’t exist and engages in ruthless, senseless acts of silliness that undermine Adultitis and its unadventurous version of adulthood. Once a month, we shine a light upon the most remarkable among us, holding them up as a dazzling example of what we should strive for in this epic battle against a formidable enemy.

This month’s worthy recipient of this prestigious honor is Carolyn Straight!

In recognition of their efforts, Adultitis Fighters of the Month receive a special mini-canvas hand-painted by Jason, along with a certificate of honor, a sweet patch, and other Adultitis-Fighting tools. We asked Carolyn some questions about how she fights the Big A and what advice she has for others…

What are some of your favorite ways to fight Adultitis?

I fight Adultitis with prayer, laughter and silliness.

Who or what has been the greatest influence in your own fight against Adultitis?

Influences to help me fight against Adultitis are My Dad and young children. Papa was funny, silly, and liked to joke around. Little kids just do and have fun without any concern.

What is something you loved doing as a child that you still do in some form today?

As a child, I loved being outside. As an adult I love being outside.

What is your strategy for dealing with people who are obviously infected with Adultitis?

My strategy is to remember that not everyone realizes they are infected and to try my best to be kind and to smile.

What advice do you have for someone who is feeling overwhelmed by Adultitis?

My advice is to go for a walk and breath the fresh air and see the beauty that surrounds them.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Keep it light and simple. Take a breath when you need it and shine on.

What an honor! Thanks for the opportunity to share! I too, enjoy being a part of this merry band. I am so blessed to have found this community a year ago…perfect timing!

Congrats to Carolyn Straight, May 2021 Adultitis Fighter of the Month. Thank you for making the world more awesome!
