‘Little things’ and ‘Delight’: feels so oxymoronic when you are an adult.
When I was about 10 years old I had a total of about 22 possessions’ I could call really mine. A binocular, a couple of science books, some comics, a electronic game kit. I enjoyed the company of them. Whenever I was with them I felt a lot of joy. After I became a little older I dreamt of having my own computer, hundreds of books in my own small library. Now I’ve a nice computer and a roomful of books I always wished I had; but I don’t get the kind of happiness and joy that I got when I was ‘a happy boy with 22 possessions’. Why not? Something went wrong somewhere! BUT WHAT?
I would only like to say to others is to “Slow down!”. There is no harm in acquiring possessions’. But the real art is to enjoy the little things in your life.
