I decided it would be fun to participate in the Dog Days of Summer Bloggy Giveaway dreamed up by Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer. Between this and the free ice cream promotion, it appears that I have lost all sense of what it means to run a profitable business…but what the heck.

So here’s the deal: We’re giving away a Tea Time for Mom Gift Set, valued at $55. First, a little bit about the prize:

Sunday afternoon at our friends’ 40th birthday party, me, my husband, my 3-year old and our friend’s daughter enjoyed their huge air-filled water slide to cool off. You know, those “very tall” things with water shooting from everywhere that are like $400 at Wal-mart? My friends were all worried it was too dirty for us to use. (Hardly–they have a bit of adultitis by the way) It was a blast. My husband had to borrow trunks even. The rest of the adults sat inside out of the sun. Great memory for us as a family.

  4. Do you remember when you wre a kid and you used to make “tents” out of sheets tied to chairs and all the other tall things in the room! WEll the other day my boys wanted “mommy time” so we made a tent in the playroom with a foam couch floor lots of blankets and pillows, and we staid in it reading for hours! It was so much fun to escape the “responsibility” of being a stay at home and just ahving fun with my little guys, 2 and 5! What a great thing to think about most days it is FUN to be a stay at home working mom!!!

  14. My husband and I recently ran away from our children for a long weekend. We left the kids with Grandma and took a road trip to LA where we saw Wicked and spent two days at Disneyland- WITH NO CHILDREN! And we had a fabulous time!

  16. Oh pick me! I recently escaped adulthood when I bought a 10 pack of plastic squirt guns and opened fire on my 2 and 4 year olds. The screams of surprise are still ringing in my ears! SO fun.

  27. I recently escaped adulthood by filling the tub up (to overflowing) with bubbles, locking the door, turning up some music, and soaking for over an hour. Guess what? The kids were still alive when I got out and they had not destroyed the house. Hey, I needed the escape! :o)

  30. one of the best ways to escape adulthood is to play with my kids. slip & slide, zip line, or “monkey-in-the-middle” (good thing they take pity on my aging body)

    Escape adulthood? Well, I think I do that all the time. It’s when I forget about cleaning and instead play a game or read a book.

    I escape adulthood every day by scoping what are the coolest things in the children’s world and then sharing them with other parents who want to let their children to be children as long as they want to!

  33. I recently escaped adulthood by having a bedtime tea party with my three children. We sat down with our wet hair and jammies and had a feast of cookies and tea complete with candles and fresh picked flowers.

  35. I’m always looking for new ways to escape adulthood! Some recent escapes: twirling in my new twirly skirt, doing cartwheels in the front yard, blowing bubbles with scented bubble soap, and my favorite – volunteering as a clown named Princes :-)

  36. While my girls napped yesterday afternoon, I hooked up Guitar Hero (that I recently gave to my husband for his 41st birthday) and rocked out for an hour! Ssssh…don’t tell the moms at playgroup!

    I’ve been catching up on Mandie books lately, which I stopped reading at book #10. I’ve read through a majority of them now, whatever I can get from the library. They’re meant for 8 year olds, but they’re really cute stories.

  42. i’ve been escapng adulthood by jump roping and hula hooping in our back yard. also jumping on the bed with our 2 year old.

  50. You know what? I like my adulthood. I enjoy it. It’s taken me 31 years to say it, but there it is. Recently, though, to relax a bit, I took a walk with my daughters and took pictures of some flowers. You can see the results on my website.
