Hey! What’s this “Steven…that’s his wife” business?! :) (I know you were referring to Katie, but it sounded interesting and slightly disturbing when you put “Steven” in the middle there)
Just thought I’d clarify…as you’ve probably figured out, “Scandihoovian” (which you pronounced correctly) is slang for “Scandinavian”. It might be a Seattle thing.
Where’s the write-in option? I didn’t see one. I would have voted for barbecue sauce if I could have written it in. I voted for ketchup instead, because ketchup is an excellent condiment (though not as good as barbecue sauce).
I do find it fascinating that tomatoes are a food, but when you mash them up into ketchup, they stop being a food. Yet when you mash up potatoes, you get mashed potatoes, which are most definitely NOT a condiment.
I also just realized that you can put ketchup on a Big Mac, and it’s quite delicious, but who ever heard of putting ketchup on a Big PC? :)
That sounds like a really inspirational book. I’ll have to check that out.
Hmm…Doug Fan Club…I think that can be arranged on Facebook…
Steven says
Oh, and forgot to mention…I have had mayonnaise by itself (mainly when licking the spoon).
(Here I go on the multiple posts again…uh-oh)
Oh, and Doug’s fan club is official on Facebook! Check it out!! Invite your friends!

K & J,
I HAVE to weigh in on the ketchup stats. As far as I can tell, they are not valid. Where is the mean, median, standard deviation, sampling number, standard error, and deviation error. For all we know the error could be +/- 15% which would make ketchup the winner. So there ;P
I gotta tell ya that I start primary flight training today so adultitis is sure to creep in with the stress of flight school. Keep our family in your prayers so that we can keep it young and not get too stressed out.
Talk to you soon,
Cubby

Hey guys-
This was one of your best shows yet! Great job! I was laughing at Doug’s clips the whole show.
I do remember when I was younger, McDonald’s Happy Meals came with either honey or sweet and sour sauce for your nuggets. I got sweet and sour and Nick always got honey. Aw… fake chicken. :)

Hey guys,
I was one of the people who told you to cheerish every moment, because it goes by fast. Sorry for wasting your time with this comment. I guess I’m not as smart as the two of you.
Peace,
greg

I think Honey Mustard – i usally order a double portion when I go out. I also think it is funny that 57 % say ketchup is not a food, Hienz 57. You gota love the irony. All the best
Jill says
Oh, you guys…. she is so beautiful…. I can’t stand how cute she is. You must be eating her up…. :)
And BTW, I think it’s ranch… our kids couldn’t live without it!
AND BTW, I am linking to your show on my blog… your first five minutes are brilliant this week – so inspiring… I really needed it.
Love you guys!!!!

Greg — Quite the contrary, you (and MANY like you) were the smart ones! My intent was to communicate that I was actually quite foolish to so easily discard the advice to cherish every moment. My own pride prevented me from seeing how easy it is to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of things, and my intent was to basically say, “You were all right!” Sorry if it didn’t come out that way.

Well, I’ve been watching your shows with my parents(Cubby and Mel), and I must say that if you want to know if Ketchup is considered a food to a child, then you must ask one. So here I am, answering this much debated question – Should Ketchup be considered a food? YES!!! It’s what makes other foods edible. All 6 of my brothers are in complete agreeance to this, and are very enthusiastic about the red stuff. They tried to put it in their Mexican soup last night. I’m glad to have helped answer this question so you can move on to more important topics like yo-yos, or bouncy balls, or who’s idea it was to can sardines.

Hey Guys – great show! I love the food vs. condiment debate. (By the way I voted for chocolate syrup. Yum!)
I love your book review of slowing down to the speed of life. Last week I saw the most beautiful purple and pink sunrise reflected in the glass doors as I stepped into work. It made me happy the whole day. :0)
Steven says
I would like to thank the kid for settling it. In that case, it’s a food. :)

(By the way, have you ever considered being a superhero? “The Kid” sounds like an awesome name for a superhero.)
