My husband, son, and I love to go to the park on Sundays. There’s a great playground, a carousel, a small zoo and even pony rides available. Even though my husband and I can’t ride on the ponies, we are allowed to ride on the carousel with our son and on the train at the zoo. Besides having a blast, it only costs a few bucks to do all these things and in the winter, the zoo is free.

I love to have an indoor picnic on the living room floor with a cool family movie. We just move from the floor to the couch and cuddle in a big blanket. These have been some great bonding times.
I also love when we can get out when the weather is nice to picnic outside after riding a while. It is great to soak up some rays and bond with nature. My four year old loves to pick dandelions and see them blow in the wind.

Have a summer pool party. Our families are all spread out but living within 1 hour of each other and each summer we have a monstrous pool party at my home with a super monstrous BBQ. Our pool is a rock style pool with 2 waterfalls and a jacuzzi so there is fun for eveyone. Splish Splashing, BBQ munching family fun.

I love to make strange food for holidays with my family and friends. I just got done making green mac & cheese! Yes, green mac & cheese for St. Patrick’s day! I will be taking it to school and sharing it with my fellow teachers! I also made green cheese cake! Yummy!

My family enjoys spending time together, no matter what we do. I’m so thankful for a family that likes each other. We play games, eat, all kinds of stuff. One time my cousin and her husband visited from Minnesota, and our whole extended family (at least, those of us who live in this area) went with them to the Oregon Coast for the weekend. That was fun! We had a great time making sand sculptures (a couple of my cousins did a mermaid, while I did an ant). At one point, we found a discarded Christmas tree on the beach, and we stood it up and had fun with it. My Minnesota cousin got a picture touching the Pacific Ocean. (The pictures are on my website, and, I think, on my facebook as well.) We also had a blast playing tag on the beach…a bunch of adults… (well, some of my younger cousins were still kids at the time)
On a sadder note, I watched this video this morning, right after I found out that one of my old friends from elementary and middle school died yesterday of melanoma (skin cancer). She was a year behind me in school, which would make her 30 now…and she left behind a husband and 5 young children. My heart breaks for her family. (I’m sure thankful she’s out of pain, though!) Then later today (after watching the video), I found out that one of the ladies in our church had a miscarriage. It reinforced your point in my mind. People are going through so much pain, and we worry about such silly things.
On a happier note, I like Kim’s shirt in this video. Very appropriate, and “I Love Lucy” is one of my all-time favorite TV shows.
Shakespeare in Love is a great comedy…although I don’t recommend it for kids. I also recommend “George Lucas in Love”, a short parody combination of Star Wars and Shakespeare in Love. It’s just plain silly! (especially if you’ve seen Star Wars and/or Shakespeare in Love…I saw it before I had seen Shakespeare in Love, and I still thought it was hilarious. Then after I saw SiL, it made even more sense!)

When I first started watching your show this week, I noticed your fun shirts! The Trix Bunny and I Love Lucy are wonderful. Lucy’s beach outfit is adorable, also! The pink sun hat on her little round head is my favorite part. Your section on what is important in life really stuck a chord with me! When faced with a seemingly negative situation, I always ask myself, will it matter in 5 years?! The two of you with your spunk are certainly cathartic for me! Thanks for that.
My husband loves the film “A Fish Called Wanda!”
Now on to the question…..My older and only sister and I enjoy antiquing and craft shopping! Then, we go to different tea rooms for lunch. My 90 year old dad and I go to breakfast twice a week at the same restaurant (he enjoys talking to everyone we know there)and many of the employees are from Albania and Macedonia. Then, dad and I head out to Walmart.
My immediate family, my husband and our two sons, love to go to surrounding state parks and stay in cabins. We fish, hike, cook outdoors and play family games late in the evening. Thanks, Cindi
