We live in a culture that worships the new. I think it’s worth keeping in mind that just because something isn’t “new” doesn’t mean it’s without value.
This is true with things other than just cookies, too.

I work for an antiques related publication and there is a lot of argument for the value of “old” and “used.” It can go overboard often in the industry, but often an old dresser is sturdier and less expensive than a new one from your favorite department store and may last longer! And there is the whole re-purposing fad to think about. A cookie with one bite out of it is just as good as the whole one! :)
