Teach Yourself a Magic Trick
Looking for something fun to do this weekend, or something just to kill time before the proverbial prehistoric bird's tail is pulled, signaling the merciful end of another workday (a la The Flintstones)? Why not try your hand at learning a magic trick or two? Check out this collection of 10 tutorial videos (is there a better application of online video than using it to reveal magic tricks?) assembled by the Everything Interesting (And More) blog, including this one which shows you how to throw a card into a deck and have it instantly change into a different card: …

I Don’t Want to Grow Up
Do you remember those commercials on TV in the 80's highlighting the Toys "R" Us shopping spree? If I remember correctly they would show some very hyper eight-year-old running through the aisles pushing this big cart full of toys and excitedly putting even more toys into the cart. How I longed to be that kid. Was I alone? Freedom to put whatever I wanted into the cart – filling it to the brim. Pick ME! …

Open Your Eyes
A new year is upon us. Even though most resolutions will be long gone before the sea of red and pink Valentines start showing up at Target (should be any minute now), a new year gives us an opportunity to reflect on our lives and consider what's ahead. This year, I challenge you to look at life in a new way; through a child's eyes. It's simple, but not easy. Adultitis conditions us to see the world in a certain, homogenous, filtered way. What possibilities are right in front of you, if only you had the ability to really open your eyes? …
Delighting in the Round Little Things
I'm not talking about rings, Cheerios, or hula hoops. I'm talking about doughnuts. But not just any doughnuts. The circles of love made fresh from the Daily Dozen Doughnut Company at the famous Pike Place Market in Seattle. If you like fresh doughnuts then you need to get on Travelocity right now and book a flight to Seattle and go get some of these doughnuts. Two Octobers ago Jason and I went to Seattle for some speaking gigs. We happened upon this doughnut stand at the Market and have never been the same since. …
A Charlie Brown Christmas
I have a dream that someday there will be an animated Kim & Jason Christmas special. It will be a fun compilation of the best Christmas story lines I've done over the years, including an appearance by the Mall Santa, of course. Maybe Pixar could whip something up. Until then, I offer up this holiday classic in it's uncut, commercial-free entirety for your viewing pleasure. Because that's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown. …
Make Me Laugh
So it's been said that the average kid laughs around 400 times a day. When it comes to laughing, the average kid kicks the butt of the average grown-up, who laughs about 15 times a day. I think this video serves as ample proof. Sure, the source of humor is not exactly Robin Williams doing improv, but the kid sure looks like he's having fun. And another note: A laugh is a laugh is a laugh. When Kim was teaching kindergarten, she'd come home every day thinking she was Jerry Seinfeld. Kindergartners are a very easy crowd. But if you can up your own laugh quota by getting a kid to laugh at …
