I just finished up this painting while my family and I continue to practice social distancing, cooped up together at home. Being in the studio has been a wonderful way for me to unplug for a bit and lose myself in act of creation. I have so many ideas bubbling up right now! The original idea for this one has been sitting in my sketchbook for years, inspired by the song "Ghosts That We Knew" by Mumford & Sons. I revisited the idea during this crisis, as it seems to be a perfect message for the time. So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light'Cause oh that gave me such a …
Secrets Kids Know by Allen Klein
I had the great privilege of reading a review copy of Allen Klein's latest book, "Secrets Kids Know That Adults Oughta Learn: Enriching Your Life by Viewing It Through The Eyes of a Child." It's a real gem. If you like what this site is all about, you'll love this book. You know that I am a big proponent of being more like children. Heck, I’ve made a career out of it! Since we grown-ups tend to be out of practice, the best way to relearn is to hang out with children themselves. (It’s one of the best perks of being a parent or grandparent.) The second best way might be to read this …

Get Your 2018 Celebrate Everything Calendar!
Too many people treat the calendar as the utmost authority on what constitutes a good reason to celebrate. If a holiday is written in fine print on a particular day in the calendar, we assume it’s safe to throw a party. But the truth is that every single day is a holiday; it’s just that most days, what to celebrate is up to you. If a reason seems good enough to you, well then, it’s good enough. The Celebrate Everything calendar was created for those times when you’re just not sure what to celebrate, as well as for those people who need permission first. Of course, disregarding a …

New Limited Edition Celebrate Everything Calendars are Here!
They're here! They're here! We got the new Celebrate Everything calendars back from the printer and they are gorgeous, you guys! If you got last year's version, you will be blown away by this year's. At 12" x 12", they are larger (Bigger art! More room to write!) and the printing is spectacular, featuring brilliant UV inks and a luxurious, velvety soft cover. Just like last year, every single day features a real (although sometimes obscure) Adultitis-fighting holiday, typeset in legit, official-looking fine print. Not just the old standards like Valentine's Day and Halloween, but …

One Chance Only Sale: Long Sleeve Tees!
Since we like making stuff way more than we like managing inventory, every once in a while, we create something we think is cool, take orders for a week or so, and then buy the exact number of goodies we need to fill those orders. So whether it’s two or two thousand, I get to make cool things, you get a chance to own them, and we don’t waste any money on stuff that takes up space in our basement. Now, does this mean we will never, ever, EVER offer this product again? Not necessarily. But if you see something you like, your best bet is to snag it while you can. Chances are it won’t be …

The Two-Week, Twelve Buck T-Shirt Extravaganza
So I'm getting the itch to create some new products. Problem is, we are running out of space and I'm not interested in living in a warehouse. So for a limited time (just two weeks, to be exact) we are offering an insane deal on ALL of our t-shirts. At just $12 each, they are over 50% off! Priced to move, baby. Now here's the thing: when these shirts are gone, they're gone. We have no immediate plans to reprint them. (Because I'll be making new ones instead!) That being said, supplies are extremely limited -- especially for certain designs and sizes -- so act fast! …

Just You Wait
Children are a wonderful blessing. And, depending on how you look at it, they can either be a CAUSE OF or a CURE FOR Adultitis. Before we were parents, we had people warn us of the former and encourage us with the latter. When our first child was born, we committed to keeping a weekly journal documenting our first year of parenting. We were curious: How would Adultitis attack us? How would we deal with it? Could we survive? When the dust settled, we'd made it through that first year and made good on our resolution to record the journey. We ended up publishing the honest, unvarnished story …
