Don't let the cherubic looks and aura of helplessness fool you. Is that newborn in your life an innocent little human being, dependent on you for sustenance and protection? Or is she really a covert ops agent on a mission against her alien captors? …

10 Ideas for Having Fun During Long Hospital Stays
Nobody typically thinks about having fun at the hospital. In fact, hospitals are a favorite a breeding ground for Adultitis. Which is a bit of a problem, because humor and laughter have been proven to significantly impact the healing process and lift the spirits of patients and their families. Not surprisingly, Adultitis and boredom really set in when hospital stays extend to days, weeks or even months. Blech. What can be done to pass the time, keep spirits up, and have fun during these long hospital days? …

17 Small Rebellions You Can Start Today
Adultitis is one of the biggest problems our world faces today. A bold statement, perhaps, especially if you've never even heard of the disease before. A condition that affects at least 75% of the world population, Adultitis creates conflict that keeps us from working together. It stamps out curiosity that could have found a better way, while plundering the laughter that helps heal wounds. And Adultitis beats down and belittles dreams that might have made a difference. A big problem, indeed. One might assume that the only way to defeat such a giant problem would be through giant …

The Story Behind the Golden Tickets
When Kim and I were in Alaska last fall, we had a lot of time to talk. (And very little time since then :) One of the things we talked about was regret. We wondered: If something happened to one of us and our time together was cut short, would there be anything we wish we would have done that we hadn't? …

Man Makes Wig with Own Hair to Trick People
Guy grows his hair out for three years. He shaves it all off, and glues it into a wig. Then he poses for photos with friends and family, and when they're not looking, pulls it off so he can get their reactions on video. Why? "So I could put it on my head and trick people!" I learned about this video from Joey who said, "To hear a grown man give a reason that was that simple was pretty awesome." I couldn't agree more. "Because it's fun" is all the reason most kids need to do anything. The childlike spirit within you doesn't need a big, complicated reason to come out and play. Any …

What We Can All Learn from Comic-Con
Although it was my first time at Comic-Con, I’d been to San Diego several times. Apparently, my reputation preceded me. I just returned from The Nerdpocolypse, aka Comic-Con, the world’s largest convention celebrating the popular arts. It is massive: 125,000 people completely take over San Diego, where it often takes you ten minutes to walk ten feet. …
7 Unconventional Lessons I Learned at The World Domination Summit
Kim and I recently attended the World Domination Summit in Portland for the second year in a row. The brainchild of Chris Guillebeau (Remember him? We did a fun interview with him a short while back), WDS is a conference inspired by the question: How do you live a remarkable life in a conventional world? One thousand real-life answers to that question were in attendance. …

Turn Your Game Boards Into Works of Art
I like this idea a lot. Beckie of Infarrantly Creative was not a big fan of board game boxes, so she did something about it. She framed the colorful game boards and turned them into functional art. …
